Communication Between Home and School

Report Cards: Students receive a progress report in November, a report card for term 1 in February and a report card for term 2 in June. Junior Kindergarten students receive a report card in June. Senior Kindergarten students receive report cards for term 1 in February and for term 2 in June.

School Communications: We email information on a regular basis to keep our parent community and families informed.  Please ensure we have the most up to date contact information for you so we can keep you up to date. 

Student Agendas: We consider a student agenda a valuable communication and organizational tool. Students will use an agenda regularly to record homework, messages to parents, upcoming events, P.A. days, special activity days, etc.

Permission Forms: Permission forms are sent home to be signed for any class trips or sports events so that you will be aware in advance that we are taking the children out of the school environment. Field trip or sporting event permission forms must be completed and returned to the school prior to the day of the trip. Faxed copies of permission slips, notes and phone calls will not be accepted in lieu of permission forms. To help fund these excursions, you may be asked to contribute a voluntary fee according to busing/admission costs.

Meetings with Teachers: Parents are welcome to request a meeting with the teacher at any time throughout the school year by appointment. We appreciate opportunities to work together for the benefit of your child.

Discussion with the Principal or Vice Principal: The Principal and Vice Principal are advocates for each child in the school and consider meetings with parents to be a priority. If you have a concern arising from a situation within the classroom setting, please ensure that you have discussed this with the teacher before bringing the matter to the principal so that you are aware of the child's and the teacher's perspective. Your meeting with the Principal or Vice Principal may be more effective if you phone ahead of time so that they can arrange their schedule to give you the time and attention you require.
