Islamic Trivia @ Agincourt For The Month of March

The word Ramadan 2025 in the night sky

This month in honour of Ramadan, students will be able to compete in a trivia contest. A few times a week on the announcements there will be a fact shared about an influential Islamic figure. If you think you know who it is, please use the google form that will be on the announcements to submit your answer. At the end of the week we will draw some names to win a prize.

March 3rd 2025 - I am javelin thrower from Pakistan, exemplified sabr (patience) in overcoming access to limited resources and injuries that could have derailed his career, including a major elbow surgery just before the Olympics. Through perseverance, he went on to win gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics. His shukr (thanks) is reflected in his gratitude to his coaches and community, as well as to his country, which he passionately represents on the global stage. Who Am I?

March 5th -I exemplify sabr (patience) through the precise, slow training his sport demands, wherein even small mistakes are costly. His shukr (thanks) is seen in his gratitude for his coaches, country, and faith. Receiving an Olympic medal at the age of 51, he serves as an inspiration and demonstrates that it is never too late to pursue one’s dreams. Who Am I?

March 17th - I am a  boxer from Algeria, demonstrating great sabr (patience) as she faced misgendering and societal expectations while rising in her sport. Her shukr (thanks) is evident in how she acknowledges the support of her fans and the opportunities her journey has opened for future generations of female athletes in Algeria.
